If you’ve been searching Amazon for a new daily face cream, you’ve probably scrolled past the SimplyVital Anti-Aging Face Moisturizer. It has racked up thousands of reviews and promises a triple-threat formula of retinol, collagen, and hyaluronic acid. But does this 1.7 fl oz cream actually deliver on its visibly firming and hydrating claims? Here’s what actually happened after a few weeks of daily use.

The Powerhouse Ingredients
This is one of the first things I check before trusting any “anti-aging” product, and this formula is fairly straightforward. The core actives are:
- Retinol – the ingredient doing most of the heavy lifting for smoothing texture and softening the look of fine lines
- Hydrolyzed marine collagen – meant to support skin’s flexibility and firmness
- Hyaluronic acid – for hydration, helping the skin feel plump rather than tight or dry
- Aloe vera, jojoba oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil – there to soften and nourish
- Chamomile extract and vitamin E – calming and antioxidant support
It’s a fairly gentle, “everyday use” formula rather than a high-strength clinical retinol, which honestly makes sense for a product marketed to both first-time retinol users and people with more sensitive skin.
The Packaging: A Hidden Perk
One of the best features isn’t even the cream itself—it’s the jar. The moisturizer comes in a hygienic, airless pump dispenser. This means you aren’t dipping your fingers into the product every day, keeping the formula germ-free and protecting the active ingredients from degrading. It also dispenses just the right, pea-sized amount, so you won’t waste any product.

How to Add It to Your Routine
Because this formula contains active retinol, you need to be smart about how you use it:
- Start Slow: If you have sensitive skin, start by applying a small amount just 1 to 2 times a week to clean, dry skin. You can slowly build up to daily or nightly use as your skin adjusts.
- Don’t Forget the Neck: This is marketed as a face and neck cream, so be sure to massage it down your neck and dĂ©colletĂ© for a firming and tightening effect.
- SPF is Mandatory: Retinol can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. If you use this as a daytime moisturizer, you absolutely must follow it up with an SPF 30+. (Doing a patch test before your very first use is also highly recommended!)
Who This Is Best For : SimplyVital Anti-Aging Face Moisturizer
This moisturizer makes the most sense for:
- People new to retinol who want a gentler introduction rather than a high-percentage formula
- Anyone looking for one product that covers hydration, mild firming, and texture in a single step
- Both men and women, since it’s formulated without a strong fragrance or a gendered marketing angle
- Those wanting a day-and-night option instead of buying separate AM/PM products
If you’re looking for a fast, dramatic wrinkle-erasing result, or you already use a strong prescription-strength retinoid, this probably won’t feel potent enough for you.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Noticeably hydrating without feeling greasy
- Gentle enough for daily use and sensitive skin
- Works for both face and neck
- Straightforward, recognizable ingredient list
- Suitable for both day and night routines
Cons:
- Requires consistent SPF use during the day
- Results on firmness/wrinkles are gradual, not instant
- Not a strong enough retinol concentration for those wanting aggressive anti-aging results
- Small jar size means it won’t last as long as larger moisturizers
Final Verdict: SimplyVital Anti-Aging Face Moisturizer
This moisturizer won’t replace a dermatologist-strength retinoid, but as an everyday anti-aging moisturizer that combines hydration, mild firming, and gentle retinol into one jar, it does its job well. For anyone easing into retinol for the first time, or looking for a low-maintenance addition to a daily skincare routine, it’s a solid, no-fuss option — just don’t skip the sunscreen.

What Other Real Users Are Saying
While my experience with the SimplyVital moisturizer was positive, I wanted to see how it worked for other skin types. Here is what other verified buyers are saying about their results:
“Great price, lasts forever, and keeps my face looking fresh”
“I’ve been using this in combination with an acne face wash, acne moisturizer, pore reducer toning pads, and oil-free facial sunscreen, and acne spot treatment. My skin has gotten so clear and looks brighter and healthier. I can’t say for sure which item is making the biggest difference, but I know I won’t be changing my skincare routine because I’m so happy with it. I love the push button on this product. Makes the dosing size easy! It’s lasted me for several months using just 1-1.5 pumps. I don’t have a lot of wrinkles yet, so I can’t speak to that. Smile lines are still there, but my face is definitely brighter! Love the price and the results!”
“Absolutely incredible at a perfect price.”
“This is my first skincare product. I believe I could say that this is a more advanced skin care product. I’m a guy and I’m in my mid-50s, so I don’t know much about this, but I’ve got rough spots or patches and this is incredible. This had great reviews and a lot of them so I just went for it, and here’s another great review! It has a very pleasant fragrance and smell, its consistency is light and easy to apply. This is a great value for the money and I would have to think that this absolutely competes with the higher price points moisturizers.”
“Pharmacist recommended!!”
“Some advice from your friendly neighborhood pharmacist. First of all, this is a retinoid. BE CAREFUL. It can have side effects such as burning, irritation, and redness and should be used with a sunscreen. I would advise using it every other day or every third day to start. That’s what I did. After 2 months of this (and I was very skeptical because I’ve seen a lot of retinol creams on the market), this stuff is like magic for my skin. The price is phenomenal for what you get. And yes, it does work! I don’t say this lightly and I don’t do that many reviews, but when I see such a good product like this I like to let people know. I recommend this to my patients who come into the pharmacy for a moisturizer. If you would like to use a nighttime moisturizer, I highly recommend Cetaphil moisturizing lotion. Just use a thin amount of each cream. Let the retinol cream dry for 5 minutes first, then apply the Cetaphil. Love, love, love this stuff!”
“Helps when paired with acne cleanser”
“As a 1997 baby who has struggled with sensitive and acne-prone skin since my teenage years, it’s safe to say that I’ve seen wonderful results with this moisturizer. Initially, my go-to moisturizer was the Neutrogena Hydroboost water cream with Hyaluronic Acid, but the jars only come in one size and are quite small. With this jar, there’s a lot more product that will last for months, especially with the 3.4oz jar. Additionally, I like the pump design so you don’t have to physically dig your fingers inside each time. The texture is not sticky whatsoever and my face feels smooth to the touch. I will say though for whoever reads this, apply the moisturizer on your skin while it is still slightly damp and apply SPF directly after.”
